Upcoming State & County Races

Ocean Reef's political foundation is built on united voting by our residents, a long-standing, close working relationship with county officials, and the strength of the ORPAC. With the upcoming Presidential Preference Primary on March 15, the Primary Election on August 30 and the General Election on November 8 fast approaching, it is important we maintain that strong foundation by supporting the candidates that share our interests.

Absentee Ballot Change

Another issue ORPAC wants to remind Ocean Reef residents of is the 2012 change in the absentee ballot laws. Absentee ballots will no longer be sent automatically - You must now request one every two years. The Supervisor of Elections Office is accepting vote by mail ballot requests now. They can accept the request by phone, mail, fax, or email; 305-453-8740, 530 Whitehead Street #101, Key West, FL 33040, 305-292-3406 (fax) office will need your name, address, date of birth, where to send the ballot and for which elections a ballot is needed. If the request is in writing, your signature is required.

It is Very Important that ORPAC has Appropriate Funds Available

Your Financial Support Is Needed

The Ocean Reef Political Action Committee treasury needs to be replenished. ORPAC would like Ocean Reef members to contribute a minimum of $200 per household. Please keep in mind that the maximum donation allowed by law is $1,000 per person. You can send your check to ORPAC, 24 Dockside Lane #505, Key Largo, FL 33037.

The Ocean Reef Political Action Committee thanks you in advance for joining our community efforts to have the Ocean Reef voice heard politically, environmentally and economically. The committee is also always looking for new members, please contact the ORPAC if you would like to join.
