National Hurricane Center's Hurricane Hunter Aircraft.

David Ritz and Greg Lunsford travel to Marathon to tour the National Hurricane Center's Hurricane Hunter aircraft. The National Weather Service's Hurricane Awareness Tour stoped at the  Florida Keys Marathon International Airport last Friday. The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration and the U.S. Air Force Reserve brought a WC-130J and Gulfstream IV plane used as a hurricane hunter.

According to www.NOAA.gov, the WC-130J is one of 10 C-130s used by the 53 Weather Service.

The Gulfstream IV is maintained by the NOAA Office of Marine Aviation Operations, which operates at MacDill Air Force Base in Tampa. The aircraft flies around and ahead of tropical cyclones, gathering data for NOAA.
